The following is a press release about the Fabulous Sin City Rollergirls' upcoming first ever intraleague bout. What's that, you say? Since the beginning, the league has always been a single team league, and as far as I know, has always been the highest rated league of its size in the WFTDA. Fearlessly taking on leagues that sometimes have three or four times the teams and skaters.

Saturday, May 10th, the league's two new home teams will bout one another for the first time. The "Old Blue Eyes" referenced in the press release is none other than legendary old school roller derby jammer Frankie Macedo (of Team Canada, L.A. T-Birds and other teams), who'll warm up the crowd by singing a bit of Sinatra.

Sin City Roller Girls Bring "Fabulous" Fun to Vegas Through Derby

Live Roller Derby in Las Vegas on May 10!

The ladies of Las Vegas's own all-women, flat-track derby league are happy to announce that FUN is coming back with roller derby. The newly minted "Fabulous" Sin City Roller Girls (SCRG) have taken on a new league structure, new look, and new attitude all in the name of showing Las Vegas just how fun and FABULOUS roller derby can be.

SCRG will introduce two new teams that will go head-to-head during an evening dedicated to honoring all things that make our home town Fabulous with a bout scheduled for May 10 @ 8PM at Las Vegas Roller Hockey Rink. Tickets for the bout are $5 in advance/$10 at the door and can be purchased on line at www.sincityrollergirls.com. Children under 10 and EMTs are always FREE.

"This is a new generation of roller derby, and we're serious about the sport. You won't find any scripted game-play with us," said league president, Slurpee 7*11. "However, we've recognized that people want to see the action and antics of the roller derby of their youth. Our goal is provide entertainment while showcasing the athleticism and skill of our skaters."

Las Vegas is a city that loves sports but has few teams of its own to embrace. The Sin City Roller Girls fill that void with 60 minutes of intense, competitive roller derby, combining the speed of NASCAR, the hits of the NFL, and the offensive/defensive volley of the NBA - and they do it all while wearing skirts and fishnets! In addition to the hustle and blows of roller derby, there will be appearances by the Babes in Sin burlesque troupe, a pre-bout tailgate party with the Knuckle Draggers Kustom Car Club, audience participation events, a performance by Ol' Blue Eyes, and for the grand finale – Klash of the Kings! That's right, it's some Elvis vs. Elvis action!
