Sport and Spectacle

May 23, 2006 - 10:15am

As derby becomes more popular in each city, there's always a humorous article focusing on how strange and cool it is to see chicks in a brutally physical sport mixing it up with attitude and T&A. alibi.com has this writeup on the Duke City Derby. "There's some debate, too, about whether the derby is anti-feminist, says [Dahmernatrix] Dai Zovi. "

2 Tricky, 2 Fast, 2 Much

April 28, 2006 - 10:06am

Ok, that's a silly headline. But the Duke City Derby officially wins the leadjammer.com Seal of Approval(tm) for sweet bouting conditions. They bout IN a bar, and it only costs $5. I'm sure they'll need more capacity and more money soon enough, but for now...sweeet. Read the article. "What a fantasy...to rocket around this extremely dark bar in the middle of the afternoon on roller skates in a crowd of people! And if anybody gets in your way, slip up next to them and smack 'em."

Hell on Wheels - The Duke City Derby rolls into town

October 25, 2005 - 1:33am

Neelam Mehta of the Albuquerque alterna-rag Alibi has this writeup, uniquely titled Hell on Wheels. "Titty-twisters are illegal!" Jackson shouted into her microphone as the bout got heated. "Sheena Slaughter, shame on you!"
