I recently contacted the Ohio Roller Girls to get some dirt on the upcoming 2007 WFTDA Eastern Region Tournament (aka Heartland Havoc) and they were happy to oblige. Alli Catraz, who considers Lead Jammer to be "legitimate media" (!), answered some questions via email. Read on!

Heartland HavocTickets are now on sale for the 2007 WFTDA Eastern Regional Tournament, aka Heartland Havoc. The tournament will be held at Battelle Hall in the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH, August 17-19. Prices are $25/day or $50 for the whole event. Get tickets online here. The Ohio Roller Girls have been getting tons of press leading up to last night's First Blood (we'll bring you news of the debut as soon as it rolls in). Here's one of the articles that ran the day of the bout. "Wallace [Scarlette Fury] sat out a recent practice with a tender arm after a fresh tattoo." Don't you wish you could call into work with that one?

The Ohio State Lantern has this story about the imminent Ohio Roller Girls, who are gearing up for their first season.

"The first season for roller derby in Columbus is slated to begin April 23 at Battelle Hall of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, according to their Web site. The season will carry six games, including the postseason, and game days will consist of two matches, divided among four teams.
