OSDA Certification
Submitted by bunker on March 25, 2008 - 10:52am.
It is with great pleasure that the Old School Derby Association (OSDA) announces the beginning of their Referee Certification Program. This program will be open to all interested in acquiring the skills necessary to referee an OSDA game. The certification will be in three steps:
- Referee Testing: a written exam will be given on the rules. Passing this permits you to work as an outside ref at an OSDA game. The rules are available for download on the official OSDA site at: /requirements/. You will receive an OSDA patch for your referee shirt. You can take the exam online, via phone or Skype.
- Certified Referee Testing: Allows you to build on your Referee Training. After serving on the Referee Staff for three games and getting the signed recommendation of a Certified Ref who served with you on each of those games, you may request OSDA Certified Referee status and move into the infield as a Jammer referee. You will receive a Certified Patch for your uniform.
- Certified Head Referee Testing: The ultimate step. After 6 games under the supervision of a Certified OSDA Head Referee and their signed approval, you may request OSDA Certified Head Referee status. Your name will be added to a database available to all OSDA member leagues of OSDA Certified Head Referees and you will be issued a certificate acknowledging your status.
